Are you interested in getting more involved in your community? Do you want to develop your skills and improve your CV. A free 6 week training course is being run on Wednesday mornings in the New Year by RotherFed. The sessions are friendly and informal and will be held between 1pm and 3pm at Springwell Gardens Community Centre. If you have an idea, the first session on Wednesday 10th January 2018 entitled Starting a New Group will show you how to get a group together and take your idea forward. At the second session, Running Your Group on 17th January 2018, you will find out about about getting organised, arranging your meetings, activities and putting in place your group aims.  Involving Everyone is the subject of the session on 24th January 2018 and will examine methods to get different people in your community involved and making sure everyone feels welcome and included. The fourth session on Wednesday 31st January 2018 is about Good Communications and looks at different ways  publicity can help promote your community group or activity.  On Wednesday 7th February 2018, we will look at Campaigning and how you work with others to make a difference locally  and influence decision makers. On the last session on Wednesday 14th February, Funding Your Project will look at how to get money and resources to develop local  community projects.

All the sessions are friendly and informal and numbers permitting, attendees can come to one or two sessions or all six. Those people who complete the full course by attending all six sessions will receive a special certificate to be  awarded at RotherFed AGM  on 27th March 2018.  The sessions are taught by various staff from Rotherham Federation. If you require it, additional help will be provided to get something up and running in your local area.
