Cheeky elves took over the outdoor market on Saturday to share Christmas joy and naughtiness with the people of Rotherham. Mrs Clause sat within the log cabin grotto which has been turned into an ‘immersive Christmas wonderland’.

The Elf takeover was brought together by Vicky Hilton ( Rotherham Federation’s Community Artist) in partnership with Rotherham Markets, Rotheerham Federation's Community organisers, Festival of Angels, the Rotherham African drummers and Aston TARA.

The event was a roaring success with ques forming to see Mrs Clause and her cheeky set of elves. Over 50 people visited the grotto in just 3 hours. There was an arts and crafts session ran by REMA’s Festival of Angels and RAD drummed up some attention in the market on the day.

Vicky Hilton, Rotherham Federation’s Community artist said ‘ The event was magic - each visitor from 12 months to 12 years was totally enchanted by our grotto – I played Mrs Clause on the day so it was heart warming to meet all the fabulous young people that visited on the day’
