A new disability network for Rotherham is holding their launch event at 11am on Thursday 24th August 2017 at Springwell Gardens Community Centre.  The launch will agree some objectives for the network and activities and actions for the future. Lunch will be included.

The Launch was agreed following a meeting of  over 30 disabled people  on Wednesday 28th June 2017 to discuss ways  the disabled community could work together  to share information, improve communication and lobby statutory authorities to deliver on their Duty of Care for the disabled.

Steve Ruffle from Rotherham Federation of Communities said “there is a real strength in the disabled community working together and supporting one another and Rotherham Federation is pleased to be facilitating this new network”

As well as agreeing objectives for the network, the meeting will agree terms of reference, elect a chair and appoint a steering group. Everyone is welcome to the launch but only those define themselves as disabled will be able to vote.
